Tis The Season For Mini Goldendoodle Puppies

Mini Goldendoodle Puppies

A puppy can be the ultimate holiday gift, and mini goldendoodle puppies can be a perfect option to consider. At Breezy Hollow Farms, we can match you with an amazing goldendoodle puppy, but before you shop, it’s important to learn about this breed and puppies, in general, to ensure that you have realistic expectations for this purchase.

Are Goldendoodles A Good Match For Your Family?

Purchasing a dog is a lifetime commitment and goldendoodles tend to live for about 10 to 15 years, and the smaller types of goldendoodles tend to live a bit longer than full-size goldendoodles.

Did you know that goldendoodles are a hybrid breed of poodles and golden retrievers? Both of these breeds are fairly energetic, so daily exercise will be an essential part of your doodle’s routine. Mini and micro goldendoodles do tend to have a bit lower energy levels, though, than their full-size counterparts. Still, puppies have a lot of energy, and this high level of energy tends to extend into their first few years of life.

In addition to high energy, goldendoodles love spending time with their human companions, making them an ideal family pet. They are known for their sweet nature and high intelligence, but they also are very social and are not well-suited to being left alone for long periods.

They are a good fit with families that can provide a stable routine with plenty of companionship and affection, and families that have a yard where they can run and play or close access to a park or other areas suitable for daily exercise.

Of course, a puppy is also a big financial commitment. Quality food, grooming and veterinary care can be expensive, but they are necessary if you are to provide optimum care for your dog. As dogs age, the costs will rise, so it’s important that you have realistic financial expectations for this animal’s care and perhaps also invest in pet insurance.

When it comes to food, we have been using Great Lakes Pet Food for many years. This is a high-quality, grain-free dog food that provides proper nutrients and boosts the immune system. We highly recommend that you continue with this diet as switching food can cause stomach distress.

We also extend our puppy health guarantee from 30 days to two years if you switch to Great Lakes food, which underscores our belief in the high nutritional value of this vet-recommended diet. This food can be purchased online at www.greatlakespetfood.com. If you decide to opt for another brand, we highly recommend talking with your veterinarian and making the switch slowly, as this is the best option for dogs.

Are Goldendoodles Hypoallergenic?

When it comes to allergies, goldendoodles can be a good option, but it’s important to understand that no dog breed is completely hypoallergenic. Because doodles are part poodle, they do tend to shed far less than many other breeds, which can reduce the spread of allergens. If you have a dog allergy, it is recommended that you spend some time with a goldendoodle before you decide to purchase a puppy.

Our Mini Goldendoodle Puppies For Sale

At Breezy Hollow Puppies, we actually raise three types of goldendoodles – micro goldendoodles, mini goldendoodles and medium goldendoodles. For reference, micro mini goldendoodles usually weigh less than 10 pounds when full grown, while mini goldendoodles can range from about 25 to 35 pounds and medium goldendoodles will end up weighing about 35 to 50 pounds.

All of our puppies are microchipped and up-to-date on all vaccines (including Lyme disease). We also provide you with a clean bill of health from our veterinarians, and all puppies are groomed with trimmed nails. We also provide you with the option of purchasing either trained or untrained medium, micro or mini goldendoodle puppies.

Trained or Untrained?

Trained goldendoodles for sale do come with a higher price tag. However, this extra cost can be worth its weight in gold (or rather goldendoodles). With a trained puppy, we have already socialized your puppy so that it interacts well with other dogs as well as people and different environments.

Our training includes potty training and crate training, and your goldendoodle will be familiar with the crate and able to spend the night in the crate with no accidents. Additionally, your trained goldendoodle will be able to walk nicely on a leash and be comfortable being in a car. We also stair-train puppies, which can be a daunting task for these little guys. Your trained doodle also will be familiar with commands such as sit, stay, leave it, come here and lay down.

It is important to understand, however, that while you will be adopting a well-trained puppy, these baby furry creatures do need to go outside and “do their business” more frequently than an adult dog, so it is recommended to take them outside every two to three hours.

Additionally, it’s not uncommon to have a few accidents during those first few weeks. Our dogs are well-socialized and friendly, but there’s no getting around the fact that adjusting to a new environment can take some time and your puppy might be a bit nervous the first few days. However, puppies do tend to adjust far more quickly than older dogs, so with some patience and praise, your puppy should acclimate into your home fairly quickly.

If you do opt for an untrained puppy, it’s worth noting that goldendoodles are highly intelligent and tend to be relatively easy to train. We do recommend that you utilize crate training techniques and begin teaching basic obedience commands right away and perhaps invest in a training boot camp or private, in-home trainer. A trained dog is a happy, safe dog and you will enjoy your furry companion all the more if he or she is trained properly.

Will Our Puppy Arrive Before Christmas?

In many cases, yes! We do offer Christmas weekend delivery options and we usually can get trained and untrained puppies to your home in time for Christmas.

In some cases, though, the puppy you select might not be quite ready to for its forever home by Christmas day. For instance, puppies younger than eight weeks are not ready to leave their mothers, and typically 10-12 weeks old is the ideal time for a puppy to transition from mama to a forever home.

We can ship puppies safely to most major U.S. airports, for $499, which means that are puppies can be shipped to many locations around the country. Our farm is located in Pennsylvania, so if you do live relatively close you can come and pick up a puppy.

We can ground ship puppies to the New York City area for $350 and we have a special delivery option for the New England region. We have connections with a trusted carrier that makes a weekly run to Londonderry, New Hampshire. For $100, we can provide you with a partial delivery along this route (Route 84).

If your puppy will arrive after the holidays, but you still want to provide your family with a “puppy for Christmas,” we recommend simply boxing up the puppy’s supplies and presenting these as a gift along with a picture of your puppy. Your family can open a box with a picture, collar and leash, and perhaps a dog bed or other dog supplies and simply let everyone know when the puppy will arrive.

In some cases, it’s great to wait until after the holidays (or a few weeks before Christmas) to introduce a puppy into your family. The days can be bustling, and schedules can be unique during the holidays, and a consistent, calm routine is the best option when introducing a new pet into your family.

Of course, we do have quite a few wonderful puppies currently available for adoption so if you have your heart set on a puppy for Christmas, we likely can make that dream a reality. As long as you have realistic expectations about puppyhood, your sweet doodle will add so much joy to your life. Goldendoodles are truly the gift that keeps on giving.
