At Breezy Hollow Puppies, we sell many different types of sweet goldendoodle puppies. This includes medium, micro and mini goldendoodle puppies, and we offer many different types of goldendoodle within those categories, including the F1B mini goldendoodle, which is a popular choice. Let’s take a quick look at some facts about this specific type of doodle.
- F1B Mini Goldendoodles Have a Distinct Genetic Makeup
The “F1B” in F1B Goldendoodle stands for the specific breeding generation of the dog. An F1B Goldendoodle is the result of breeding an F1 Goldendoodle (first-generation, 50% Golden Retriever and 50% Poodle) with a purebred Poodle. This means that the F1B Goldendoodle is 75% Poodle and 25% Golden Retriever.
For the F1B mini goldendoodle, this will be 75% mini Poodle, which is how we achieve the smaller size. Mini Goldendoodles, in general, will grow to become about 15 to 30 pounds when full grown, so they are a relatively small dog.
- F1B’s Are Bred For Their Coat
One of the main reasons for breeding the F1B Goldendoodle is to achieve a more hypoallergenic coat, as they have a higher percentage of Poodle genetics. Their coats are typically wavier or curlier, which often results in less shedding compared to F1 Goldendoodles. This makes them a great option for families with allergies.
Keep in mind, that no dog is entirely hypoallergenic, the F1B Goldendoodle is simply far less likely to negatively affect those with allergies, which is why this designer breed can be such as great match for families looking for a puppy with hypo-allergenic qualities.
Coat colors of F1B goldendoodles can vary widely, including cream, gold, red, gray, and black, sometimes with unique patterns or markings. At Breezy Hollow, we offer goldendoodles in many colors, so whether you’d like an apricot mini Goldendoodle or perhaps are searching for a red mini Goldendoodle for sale or a blue merle Goldendoodle for sale, we have lots of options.
- The F1B Mini Is Affectionate & Intelligent
Because the Goldendoodle is a cross between a Poodle and a Golden Retriever, these sweet pups enjoy many of the same attributes as their parent breeds. Both types of dogs are known for their high intelligence and affectionate nature, making them ideal family dogs and ideal companions in general. They are often highly trainable and responsive, which often makes them suitable to serve as a therapy dog or service dog.
- Goldendoodles Need Regular Exercise
Goldendoodles are considered moderately active, so they will require some solid daily exercise. Because a mini 1FB Goldendoodle is smaller, you often can expend energy playing indoors, which is why this smaller dog can be a good match for people in an apartment or home with a smaller yard. Daily exercise might include a couple of walks, but also some good playtime for mental stimulation.
Remember, these are highly intelligent dogs, so they need to play games such as “find the toy” or fetch or maybe work with puzzles. You could even purchase a dog vocabulary set and teach them a variety of different words. These sets include a set of buttons that say a word out loud when your dog’s paws touch the button. Goldendoodles are capable of building quite a vocabulary and can truly communicate with their family using these types of kits. Goldendoodles often are a good match for agility training, as well.
- Regular Grooming Is A Must
While a Goldendoodle’s coat might not need the same level of care as a Golden Retriever, their coat does require regular grooming to prevent matting. We also recommend taking your doodle to a groomer every few months for a professional grooming session.
Poodles are generally healthy, but they are prone to ear infections, so Goldendoodles can be, as well. So, it’s wise to check and clean your dog’s ears regularly, as this can prevent infections and ensure that your sweet dog is as comfortable as possible.
